IRRIOT is granted €500.000 to develop bio intelligent irrigation

IRRIOT was recently granted €500.000 from EIP AGRI via the Swedish Board of Agriculture to develop a bio intelligent irrigation system together with Vivent.

All plants communicate using electromagnetic impulses. Vivent has specialized in harnessing and translating these signals so that we can actually understand what the plants are communicating. By integrating their platform into IRRIOTs wireless irrigation automation system we will create a system where plants will be able to communicate their needs and this will be supplied automatically by IRRIOT.

The project stretches over a 3 year period and the solution will be commercially available after 2024. The two pilot sites are strawberry farmers in Sweden.
